Braunton's Biosphere
The North Devon Biosphere has pioneered an extensive Nature Recovery Plan as part of the effort to fight the ecological crisis. At the heart of the North Devon Biosphere, Braunton is the most biodiverse parish in the UK. Covering land, freshwater, and intertidal zones, the plan aims to make more and better space for nature’s recovery. The plan prioritises safeguarding existing wildlife areas, putting actions in place to assist declining populations, and reintroduce lost species. Focusing on farming, forestry, towns, and villages across North Devon, the plan will support local businesses, farmers, and landowners to implement nature’s recovery into their communities. This will be done by implementing policies, regulations, community engagement, and participating in research. Protecting wildlife, on a big or small scale, is a vital step to restore Britain's reclining biodiversity.
